The founders' idea

It seems nonsensical to create a permanent goal and hold it as the precarious state of truth however much the beginning of which is created by thinking persons. Well, something must be visible, among men this is unavoidable. “One cannot step into the same river twice,” and yet it is still the same river.

Our journal hopes to clear the way for something more than a goal, namely a different and Romantic inspired Lebenswelt. For the innermost of each person does not lie behind fortified walls nor can it be stormed, it lies in the spirit. In what is given, where one is at home in-the-world.

If there is a future for culture, this is it, while we still see with eyes that see. Indeed, the difficulty of publishing texts of thought demonstrates our decline, even when accepting today’s daunting power, Progress. Love or hatred. Yet everything that seemed so certain at the dawn of the last century now seems doubtful at the dusk of the next.

Like Aeneas, striving onward step by step; until

Sunt hic etiam sua praemia laudi;
sunt lacrimae rerum et mentem mortalia tangunt.
Solve metus; feret haec aliquam tibi fama salutem.

Here, too, the praiseworthy has its rewards;
there are tears of things and mortal things touch the mind.
Release your fear; this fame will bring you some safety.                                                                                                                    Virgil

Tears are needed again, less fame, and tears thought but not granted space to be built, to flow, must, and will be on De Spiritu. The new in the old. Because too many have forgotten that which is enlightened grows out of what is living, with the same water. Here one attempt will be made to remember at least.
